Polecat in conjunction with Technology Strategy Board, Enterprise UK and Volans recently launched the Clean & Cool Mission 2010 at the London Stock Exchange. The Clean & Cool Mission is a competition to identify the top 20 fast growing Clean & Cool companies in the UK. Those companies selected will be travelling to San Francisco from 20 Feb to 26 Feb to meet Investors, potential partners, media and peers on the West Coast. Java/ Oracle developer
With immediate effect, we are seeking a highly capable java developer, to work predominantly from our office in Dublin but also flexibly from home if preferred.
Applicants must have excellent database skills and an enthusiasm to work with our team to further develop and improve our sentiment analysis and business intelligence applications. In particular, this will involve developing text extraction and information retrieval applications, against very large data sets of unstructured data.
Applicants should also have an outstanding low level knowledge of java and the workings of the JVM, as well as a good grasp of enterprise architectures. They should also have at least 5 years’ practical experience of working with large databases in general and, preferably, Oracle in particular.
We are a small start-up, so require someone willing to take on new challenges and get involved with a wide range of functions, such as administering databases, web servers and linux installations. This is an excellent chance to be part of a fascinating, successful and fast-growing business, developing cutting edge technologies with some of the world’s best universities.
